NY BENSON — Benson Town Board appoints Chelsea Hartmann to fill council vacancy. The board unanimously voted to appoint Hartmann to replace Lori Mead's position effective October 1, 2026, Supervisor Phil Snyder reported, following two applications for the vacant seat. In related business, the board unanimously approved 11 expense vouchers totaling $8,376.87 and reviewed the proposed 2027 budget, which includes a 7.41 percent increase with 4 percent designated for the Transfer Station.
Highway Superintendent Mike Palmer reported ongoing tree work on Stony Creek Road, River Road, and Town Barn Road.
