Benson Town Board approves highway budget amendment, discusses Hope contract increase

NY BENSON — Benson Town Board approves amended 2026 highway budget and discusses Hope contract increase. Supervisor Phil Snyder and four council members unanimously approved Resolution 52-26 amending 2026 highway appropriations for CHIPS, EWR, POP and PAVENY. The board also unanimously approved an expense report totaling $14,635.90 covering 21 vouchers from the General and Highway funds.

The board discussed a revised contract from the Town of Hope with a $10,000 cost increase and agreed to review it and submit questions regarding payroll, weight charges and fuel logs, with Supervisor Snyder recommending negotiation of two separate contracts for highway and transfer station services.
